Excellent trip for young and old alike, brilliant value, interesting and scrummy complimentary home made wine, which you can also purchase a bottle of. Well worth the reasonable price.

we visited this very interesting museum by the little road train from alykanas. My two children aged 10 and 5 loved it. It was very informative. The museum used to be a school and is now owned by Spiros who also owns the local taverna. He also renovated the little village church. The desk he sat at school is in the museum, fascinating place. He's a very friendly man and gave the kids free ice-creams. The whole trip was much better than anticipated, only went on it because my little boy had nagged to ride on the train whole holiday. We were pleasantly surprised and only wish we'd done it earlier in the holiday rather than the last day because we would have defnitely gone back to Spiros' taverna for a meal.

My family and I went to this museum last year and found the whole trip very interesting. We took the trainaki from Alikanas in the early evening and went through Katstari, the views were gorgeous, make sure you take a camera. The museum gave us a very good insight into how life was in Zante many years ago. I'd definitely reccommend this trip!!

Really enjoyed the insight into Zakynthian rural history. The museum is packed with artifacts and has rooms set up to show what the interiors of houses looked liked. We took the little train 'Trainaki' from Alykes, which was very reasonably priced and the commentary en-route and on location was very informative & entertaining. The wine included in the price was a welcome bonus.
