Argiros Apartments(Apartments in Alykes) |
| 10/10 | |
we stayed at these apartments in may and june 09. enjoyed it so much we are going back in september. the owner is very friendly and always smiling, and speaks very good english. these are the best apartments we have stayed in, in alykes in the past 15 years.
it is a shame thomas cook have put there prices up so much for next year, but we are still going back in july 2010. really looking forwards to going back.

Location of these apartments is ideal - right by the salt flats and five minutes from the beach and the centre of Alikes. Rooms are of an adequate size and some are very big. Balconys are lovely. They were very clean when we arrived but unfortunately were not cleaned all week. There was no change of towels or bed linen. Someone came in one day and just emptied the bin and wiped round the kitchen.
Security was the best we have ever seen in Greece with two secure lockable glass doors onto the balcony.
We were only provided with one pillow each and the owner tried to charge me 2 euros to have another one. I refused and an extra pillow arrived three days later.
The provision of crockery and cutlery is haphazard and inadequate; the kettle had obviously been left behind by previous tennants as it had a British plug and no adapter.
There was a problem with the plumbing and we ended up having to switch off the water supply to the toilet except when we wanted to flush it. The promised plumber never arrived.
If these apartments were managed better we would have no hesitation in recommending them but in the current climate there are better chioces giving better value for money.

Having been to Alikes for the last 11 years and stayed in various apartments, there are basic facilities and there are basic facilties! The cutlery was practically non-existant consisting of a couple of bent stained t spoons, a couple of stained forks and a few basic knives - not exactly self catering equipment - just as well we never eat in but it would have been nice to be able to prepare and eat breakfast in the apartment!
The plates etc were also very lacking and in most cases plastic.
There was no maid service, except for change over day.
The mat in the bathroom was disgusting to say the least and spent the whole of our weeks holiday out of sight under the sink.
The view could not be faulted and the pool in the adjacent Clio was very clean and quiet which helped to make up for the dismal accommodation.
Would not stay here again unless it was vastly improved and would definately not recommend it.

| We stayed at Argiros from 21st-28th and had a really fantastic time. The apartment (no5) was basic but clean, spacious with a fantastic balcony. Not a mosquito bite in site which must have been down to the screens on the doors and windows which we left open every night. We hired a fan from Mr Argiros...a friendly and charming man who has a keen interest on saving energy(don't leave your lights on!). We used the pool at the Clio which was beautiful, well maintained with friendly staff who are always ready to help. Friday night Greek night ...is a must. Another restaurant we would highly recommend was The Olympic - Amazing 5 star food at incredibly low prices. All in all a brilliant and relaxing holiday, we would definitely return to Argiros Apartmentsand Zakynthos. | |

Really good appartments with very friendly and helpful owner. Short
walk from the beach and town centre. Quiet location but there is a bar
and pool in the apartments next door if you want them. Lift to all
floors. Well recommended![]()

| We stopped her in July 2004 the apartments weren't brill but if your just looking for somewhere to sleep and scrub up its ideal. The owner Arthur is absolutely lovely and so helpful, he brought us fresh vegetables from his allotment everyday. We would defiantle go back to these apartments again. | ||||||||||
